Tom Roberts of National Catholic Reporter with a feature from the Dallas meeting of the American bishops. Rod Dreher of National Review is there as well. A lot of talk in Dallas and elsewhere about regaining "credibility." And some of the grim results of fecklessness on many questions are readily apparent. Dealing with the scandal on the Dallas agenda, preparation for a necessary and long-overdue cleansing however painful, also crowds out other pressing concerns. It makes it unlikely, for example, that we'll soon hear from the episcopate the full-throated and prophetic condemnation demanded by the advancing prospect of human cloning.

But we trust in Him, as it says, "The eternal God is your Refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Deuteronomy 33:27

And so our hymn Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.
