All of the books in the Chip Hilton series written by the great Clair Bee are now back in print. The new edition of the books was produced by the Nashville religious publisher Broadman & Holman, who insisted on some changes and adjustments in the text of the stories and "the primary departure from the originals is an unapologetic insertion of religious themes to appeal to Christian readers."

Thomas M. DeFrank of the New York Daily News has a perceptive appreciation of the series and a consideration of the changes that were required by the publisher in the current issue of The Weekly Standard. Unfortunately, linking to DeFrank's article isn't permitted.
