Augustine thought it was the highest of all aesthetic forms. Luther thought it was second only to the Holy Ghost in its power to affect the soul of man. And we treat it as entertainment. Somewhere between Mozart and McCartney our mindset changed. So now music is mere ear candy produced by Eminem and others among his dissonant crew.



In this issue we hope to catch just a glimpse of that musical glory which once gilded the legend of Christendom. Words always fail to evoke the same emotions as music. However, we trust that we might encourage a renewed interest in our theology of music. The lay of the Christian bard may again echo down our halls.
